Skruffy Records in a new independent UK record label formed in 2026. They are passionate about providing a fairer deal to musicians and helping bands navigate the world of digital music so they can concentrate on creating new material.
This brand new record label needed a corporate identity that works for the moden music instry yet isn’t out of place with the ethos from 70s punk and rock, 80s pop and up to the present day.
cforce presented a number of concepts but it soon became clear that a logo based on ‘Skruffy’ one of the director’s dogs was favourite.
Skruffy was a beloved, characterful companion who, by all accounts, had the energy and attitude of a punk. He did things his own way, answered to nobody and had absolutely no interest in following the rules.
But here’s the thing about Skruffy: everyone loved him. He wasn’t difficult or aggressive—he was just brilliantly, authentically himself. That spirit—a little rough around the edges, fiercely independent, but warm and loveable at heart—felt like exactly the right emblem for the record label. They’re here for the music that has character, personality and a bit of Skruffy in it. So there he is—a little punk dog with a big heart.
We like to think he’d approve.
Full brand guidelines and logo usage guides were created to ensure consistent use of the branding both internally and by third-party designers.
